Children's rooms “grow up” along with their owners, as during childhood, continuous changes take place, concerning physical evolution, knowledge skills and sentimental needs. The basic design guide is based on the flexibility potential of each space, so as to be able to adapt to these changes with the minimum possible interventions.

For children, their room is their personal universe, as inside it takes place all the range of activities in their lives. Sleep, play, study and rest areas coexist and overlap in various time frames. Therefore the basic design criteria are: the strategic place of voluminous items, the creation of storage space and the dimensioning of furniture.

The maximum exploitation of natural light, combined with selected sources of artificial light, define areas and support different uses.

A key design parameter is the selection of the adequate materials in concern with the security and the variety of textures, as children discover their environment through the sense of touch.

The colour palette is customized for each project in order to achieve a calm context, as childrens’ microworld includes anyhow a lot of bold colour objects.
