The project concerns the design and realization of a rural house, with a visible bearing structure (a bearing stone structure and a wooden roof). The concept was the incorporation of the new building to the agricultural - residential context of the larger mountainous area, in terms of volumes, scale, materiality and balance with the surrounding space.

There were adopted bioclimatic design principles, concerning the building’s orientation as well as the location and the size of the openings. The building materials were selected with the criteria of local origin and the resilience to the climatic conditions, while the building process is inspired by and evolves traditional techniques and practices, with the aim of the optimization of the energy behaviour of the building, with the minimum environmental cost.

The existing inigenous vegetation has been conserved at the maximum level, while the growing planting will be crucial for the building’s integration in the landscape.
